Churros with Thick Hot Chocolate
The quintessential Madrid breakfast: fried dough crispy outside and tender inside, coated in sugar and cinnamon, dipped in thick chocolate. Pure morning vice.
Ingredients

✓Harina de trigo250g

✓Agua250ml

✓Mantequilla50g

✓Huevos3 unidades

✓Sal1 pizca
-
✓Aceite de oliva500ml

✓Azucar100g
-
✓Canela2 cucharadas

✓Chocolate negro200g

✓Leche300ml
Instructions

Heat water with butter and pinch of salt.

When boiling, add flour all at once and stir vigorously.

Cook dough until it pulls away from sides.

Remove from heat and let cool 5 minutes.

Add eggs one by one, integrating each well.

Let dough rest 30 minutes in refrigerator.

Heat plenty of olive oil to 180 degrees.

Place dough in churrera or piping bag.

Form long strips and fry until golden.

Drain on paper towels.

Mix sugar with cinnamon and coat hot churros.
