German Red Cabbage Salad

Classic German red cabbage salad pickled with apple cider vinegar, sugar and apple. Perfect side dish.

    1/2 cabeza
  • Sal
    1 cucharadita
  • Vinagre de manzana
    4 cucharadas
  • Azucar
    2 cucharadas
  • Aceite vegetal
    3 cucharadas
  • Semillas de comino
    1 cucharadita
  • Manzana
    1 unidad

    Cut red cabbage into very thin julienne with mandoline or knife. 2. Sprinkle salt over cabbage and massage with hands to soften. 3. Let sit 30 minutes to release liquid and soften. 4. Drain excess liquid if needed. 5. Mix apple cider vinegar with sugar, oil and caraway seeds. 6. Add grated or julienned apple to cabbage. 7. Combine everything and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
