  • Cebolla
    2 grandes
  • Ajo
    6 dientes
  • Jengibre fresco

  • Chiles verdes

  • Semillas de comino
    2 cucharaditas
  • Cúrcuma

  • Coriandro molido
    1 cucharada
  • Garam masala

    Toast cumin seeds in a dry pot until fragrant.

    Add ghee and sauté onion until golden.

    Add garlic, ginger and green chilies. Cook 2 minutes.

    Add spices: turmeric, coriander and garam masala.

    Pour crushed tomatoes and cook 5 minutes.

    Add washed red lentils and water.

    Bring to boil, reduce heat and cook 25 minutes.

    Partially blend for rustic texture.

    Add lemon juice and adjust salt.

    Prepare tadka: heat ghee with mustard seeds and curry leaves.

    Pour tadka over soup just before serving.

    Serve hot decorated with fresh cilantro.
