Hungarian Beef Paprika Stew

✓Pimentón dulce3 cucharadas

✓Pimentón picante1 cucharada

✓Vino tinto200ml

✓Tomate triturado400g

✓Caldo de res800ml

✓Patatas400g
-
✓Zanahorias300g

✓Guisantes150g
-
✓Tomillo fresco3 ramas

✓Laurel2 hojas

✓Aceite de oliva80ml

✓Sal y pimientaal gusto

Brown beef in large pieces in very hot oil. Set aside.

In the same pot, sauté onion until caramelized.

Add garlic and paprika. Cook 2 minutes.

Add crushed tomato and red wine.

Reduce 5 minutes over high heat.

Add beef broth, thyme and bay leaf.

Return beef to pot. Bring to boil.

Reduce heat and cook covered 2 hours.

Add potatoes and carrots. Cook 30 minutes.

Add peas and cook 10 more minutes.

Adjust salt and pepper.

Serve hot with crusty bread or white rice.
